Don't do critical things when you have fever induced brain fog!

Krista and I both have been diagnosed with the flu. I have type A, she has type B. (At least we know she didn't get it from me). Anyway, in a moment of feeling almost half human on Monday night, I decided to work on some website pages for a project we plan to roll our in late January. Little did I know, one change here, makes the same change on every page on the site. So, three minutes on Monday night almost took the whole Practical Prepping website down, and will require about three hours of repairs. With that said, you may find a few things a little buggy for now. We're working on it. Stay warm...there's a storm brewing!

Getting Started Prepping On A Limited Budget

We wrote this article two years ago this month. It is as relevant today as it was when it was written.  Getting Started Prepping On A Limited Budget This is a critical point: FEMA’s number one stated goal in its 2018-2022 Strategic Plan is this: "Build a Culture of Preparedness." Conflict Resolution

I have long believed that communication skills are among the most important, yet least practiced, survival skill sets. They are applicable across the board, both now and down the road. Given the current state of affairs in the world, many of us are already pretty stressed and on edge. That means conflicts are perhaps a bit more common than normal. Before we get too much further, let me clarify the type of conflict we’re discussing here. When I say, “conflict resolution,” I’m talking about arguments or disagreements that happen between you and those around you. I’d also include those instances where you’re a third party, or maybe referee might be a better term, to a discussion between two or more others in your family or group. These are what we often call “interpersonal” conflicts. In other words, we’re NOT talking about some sort of armed confrontation with a group of strangers intent on taking your supplies or anything else along those lines. There are several different strategi...
