Getting Your Spouse, Family, or Friends Involved In Preparedness

We are often asked, (and see in various forums), “How do I get my spouse, or my family, on board with prepping?” It can be a real challenge when your spouse of family isn't on board with prepping, and many are resistant to anything to do with the idea. There is no single answer or guaranteed way to get anyone else on board, but we can offer some suggestions that have worked for us and others.   Click here for the article we wrote on the subject. To hear the podcast, click "Podcast" at the top of this page and select Episode #259.

30-Day Challenge

30-Day Challenge! I'm doing it; will you?  After researching the Weird Signs of Dehydration, I believe some of my physical issues have dehydration as their cause, so starting tomorrow and continuing through Aug 25, I will consume the proper amount of water my body needs every day. Then, I'll assess how well proper hydration helped ease these issues. Try it with me! Hear the " 25 Weird Signs " on our podcast Episode # 257 .

More shortages are coming this fall.

We are expecting more food shortages coming in the fall due to decreased harvest yields due in part to severe droughts across the U.S. We cover this aspect in the free, bi-weekly, newsletter. Just send us an email and we will get you on the list. Stuff happens. Stay prepared.

How do we make ends meet during times of high (and going higher) inflation?

Inflation bites! The numbers came out, inflation is over nine percent and climbing. The PPI (Producer Price Index, measures wholesale inflation) came out at 11.6%, so we at Practical Prepping expect August numbers will show double digit inflation for July. Add to the high inflation rate, and the fact that we are in a recession, how can we make ends meet in the grocery store, gas pump, and all the other necessities such as utilities. Monday's podcast episode, (#254), and Wednesday's episode, (#255), are a two episode series on inflation busting. Click on "Podcast" above to listen.
